HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - It's Olelo Hawaii month. And to celebrate, HNN's Keahi Tucker got a chance to learn more of Hawaii's native language. His teachers: 3-year-old Tehea and 5-year-old Kelia. The reason these girls are so maikai at Olelo Hawaii is because they live it. Along with their friends at Kulaniakea School in Kaneohe, they're immersed in their native language. And culture is a big part of learning - through field trips and family support.

It's such a pleasure to work with @lacydeniz in our new high-rise set at Edith Kanakaole Stadium. Hoike night was hectic, but she's a real pro. Can't wait for Miss Aloha Hula tomorrow! Threads by @olahoudesigns https://t.co/NdrKkewosh

A haiku for tonight's newscast: Automation, ugh Mistakes and humility We ask for patience
