The 2025 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival boasted more than its share of big moments. Lil Wayne finally made his debut. Pearl Jam positively rocked an enormous crowd. Kacey Musgraves serenaded us from a foggy garden. Lenny Kravitz and Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews publicly displayed their mutual respect and long-standing friendship. But as with any Jazz Fest, plenty of smaller moments were just as satisfying.

If crowds at the 2025 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival occasionally felt a little lighter than normal, that’s because they were. Approximately 460,000 people passed through the gates of the Fair Grounds during the eight days of the just-completed 2025 Jazz Fest, co-producer Festival Productions Inc.-New Orleans said Monday. That total counts every scanned ticket or pass used to enter the grounds by attendees, vendors, staffers and other workers.

The 2025 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival closed on a sun-splashed Sunday with flawless festival weather. In a year when the weather was good overall, Mother Nature saved the absolute best for last. Thus, a solid, comfortably-sized crowd was on hand to see southwest Louisiana singer-songwriter Zachary Richard lead listeners at the Sheraton Fais Do-Do in mass imitation of crawfish claws.
