A Dallas police officer was killed Tuesday in a “major accident” in Hunt County, Dallas police officials confirmed to The Dallas Morning News. Officer Gabriel Bixby, 29, was off duty and traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when the crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. on State Highway 276, about a mile and a half from Union Valley and close to Royse City, a small city about 30 miles east of Dallas, law enforcement officials said.

DALLAS — A Dallas police officer who wrote “aim better” online after the assassination attempt on then-presidential candidate Donald Trump was given a 30-day suspension Thursday, officials confirmed to The Dallas Morning News. Interim Dallas police Chief Michael Igo disciplined Sgt. Arturo Martinez during an internal hearing, the officials said. Martinez had also been under investigation for an unrelated allegation that he threatened someone, according to internal records obtained by The News.
