AUSTIN, Texas — This year marks the 30th anniversary of the annual Austin Reggae Festival, taking place April 18-20. The festival will be taking over Auditorium Shores at Town Lake Metropolitan Park. The event’s lineup includes top reggae acts; Anthony B, Nattalie Rize, Black Prophet and Micah Shalom on April 19 and Third World, Luciano, Sg Kumar and Mau Mau Chaplains on April 20. The festival will run from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

DALLAS — The City of Dallas is facing two lawsuits filed Thursday by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, challenging their gun bans at The Majestic Theatre and Fair Park Music Hall. These lawsuits are a continuation of the legal battle started in August when Paxton sued the State Fair of Texas regarding its gun ban. Paxton asked for a temporary injunction on the gun ban ahead of last year's State Fair, but the Texas Supreme Court denied his request. That case is ongoing.

TEXAS — A bill creating a Texas moving image industry incentive program and more than doubling film and TV production funding was passed by the Texas Senate Wednesday. Senate Bill 22 would, in effect, allocate $500 million to the incentive program every two years until Sept. 1, 2035. To receive grant funding, productions must film at least 60% of their project in Texas and submit a budget showing all in-state spending.
