A new law would attach penalties of up to $6,000 fine and/or a year in jail if you do not inform police officials of a concealed weapon when asked. In 2022 the State of Alabama passed a law making it legal to conceal and carry a weapon on you person or vehicle, over opposition from the Alabama Sheriffs Association.
