PONCHATOULA, La. (WVUE) - An allegedly violent suspect led deputies on a chase from Metairie to near Ponchatoula early Saturday (May 10), drawing a gunshot from authorities before eventually being wrestled to the ground and arrested, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Travis Umfrey of Metairie, 44, was booked on a host of charges, the agency said, after he allegedly fled from a traffic stop, crossed parish lines, drove over a spike strip and tried to disarm law enforcement officers.
