    CHALMETTE, La. (WVUE) - A woman accused of stealing a car Monday (June 9) with a toy poodle inside is being sought by the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. The agency said the vehicle was recovered later Monday in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, but both the dog and the woman accused of taking her remain missing. Sheriff James Pohlmann’s office said 35-year-old Shanda Norton of Poydras was identified as the suspect, and is wanted on counts of motor vehicle theft, vandalism and theft.

    NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A speeding driver plowed into stopped motorcycles on Almonaster Avenue shortly after midnight Sunday morning (June 8), killing two riders and injuring two others, New Orleans police said. The identities and ages of the victims were not immediately disclosed, but the NOPD described the deceased as an adult man and adult woman. It was unclear if they were riding on the same motorcycle when they were struck at 12:19 a.m. in the 6900 block of Almonaster Avenue.
