    The IPMS/USA National Convention and largest model show in North America occupied the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin, for four days, July 17-20, 2024. Modelers from across the U.S. and Canada, as well as Argentina, Australia, the United Kingdom, and French Polynesia, gathered to spend money in the large vendor room, attend seminars, talk about techniques, catch up with friends, and, of course, show off their efforts in the contest room.

    FineScale Modeler’s 2nd annual Build a Model Month contest was a success! With over 230 modelers submitting pictures of their models, there was so much talent on the virtual “table” that it was difficult to choose who won. For those of you who participated, thank you! Everyone did a great job. Keep modeling! During December 2023, the FineScale Modeler staff deliberated with the BAMM judges to ultimately choose the category winners and award the Best of BAMM prize.

    In November 2022, FineScale Modeler magazine held its first Build a Model Month contest. More than 750 scale modelers from all over the globe entered the contest, sharing over 3,700 photos of their models in seven categories: Aircraft/Real Space, Armor/Military Vehicles, Automobiles/Motorcycles, Figures/Gundam/Mechs, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Ships, and Juniors. Of course, FineScale Modeler is hosting another BAMM competition in November 2023, which is only six months away.
