A Sonoma Valley educator has been selected as the next principal at Mill Valley Middle School. Kelly Kriss, principal of Adele Harrison Middle School in Sonoma, will start the job on July 1. Kriss’ salary has not received board approval yet, but it is expected to be in the range of $171,733 to $217,469. The range could be increased because of recent labor agreements, the Mill Valley School District said.

Members of the Jewish community in Marin are lauding state lawmakers' support of a controversial bill to prohibit discrimination in public schools. Assembly Bill 715 passed the state Assembly by a 68-0 vote on Thursday. Its next stop is the state Senate Education Committee. "Antisemitism in K-12 education is a serious and growing concern," said Kim Friedman, a member of the Marin Jewish Parents and Allies Union.
