INDIANAPOLIS – Thursday’s news cycle at the Colts second OTA session of 2025 was all about Anthony Richardson’s latest injury. But the Colts did also have an open practice on Thursday. Here are the observations from the second viewing of the spring:-So much for dueling quarterback updates this spring. With Thursday’s news on Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones is this team’s starting quarterback for the rest of the spring, and possibly longer.

INDIANAPOLIS – Chris Ballard’s biggest question regarding Anthony Richardson has shown up again with the season still 3 months away. Last Thursday, Richardson suffered an aggravation in the AC joint of his surgically repaired right shoulder during the team’s second 11-on-11 practice of the offseason, meaning he will miss the remainder of the spring offseason program.

INDIANAPOLIS – There’s a lot to like about Riley Leonard. He’s got nice quarterback size (6-3, 216)His toughness was on full display in quarterbacking Notre Dame to last year’s National Title game. The ability to extend plays/make plays with his legs was clear from Leonard. And those around the NFL absolutely gush over the character Lenoard brings to the most important position in sports. So how in the world did Leonard not get drafted until the 189th pick of the 2025 Draft.

INDIANAPOLIS – Arguably the finest individual story from the Colts 2024 season, Alec Pierce already has improvement on his mind as he enters a contract year. There’s no question Pierce is one of the elite big play receivers in the entire NFL. He led the NFL with 22.3 receiving yards per catch last year. But as Pierce points to expansion in his game, he’s a baseball hitter that must complement his impressive home run ability. “I just want to continue expanding my game,” the 4th year pro says.

#Pacers thoughts: -Man, first time all playoffs I felt a gut punch of a Pacers L. -Win the 3-point line by 30 and lose? -Wilted in the clutch. Rare. Stinging. -Small Obi needs more with Turner looking (feeling?) like this. -Still think Indiana can win another in OKC.

How did Daniel Jones look this spring? https://t.co/By6k8rNzV1
