Almost 3,000 voters have taken advantage of Early Voting in Mason County. Early Voting in person opened October 26 and concludes at 4 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 3 at the two approved early voting locations. For voters in Ludington, that location is City Hall, 400 S. Harrison Street in the Council Chambers. The voting center is open from 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. for registered voters in Wards 1-6. City Clerk Deb Luskin said 775 voters had cast their ballots as of October 31.

ATLANTA (AP) — The Tour Championship returns to East Lake for the 24th time. Xander Schauffele is not alone in feeling as though he is on a brand new course. East Lake went through an extensive renovation by architect Andrew Green, who most notably refurbished Oak Hill for the PGA Championship last year, and the changes are stark. “This is not the same golf course,” Scottie Scheffler said while playing the front nine when he arrived Monday. CHORZOW, Poland (AP) — Armand Duplantis has broken the world record in the pole vault again, this time clearing 6.26 meters in a Diamond League meet in Poland on Sunday. Duplantis, the Louisiana-born 24-year-old who competes for his mother’s native Sweden, added another centimeter to his world record in Chorzow. It's the third time this year that he has set a world record. He did so in the recent Olympic Games in Paris, clearing 6.25 meters after clinching the gold medal.

MANISTEE — There was something different about the Manistee football team’s seven-on-seven scrimmage at the practice field across from the stadium Wednesday evening. You didn’t have to look closely to see that someone new was going over the offensive plays as long-time assistant Troy Nezki assumes a new role with the Mariners. But, a cool breeze made it seem like early fall as the Mariners began preparations for the 2024 season with a new person at the controls, and he was supervising the defense.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Stellantis is telling the owners of more than 24,000 plug-in hybrid minivans to park them outdoors away from buildings, and to stop charging them due to the possibility of battery fires. The company said Thursday that it's recalling certain 2017 through 2021 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrids, mainly in North America. Some are being recalled for a second time. All can still be driven.
