Vitaly Beckman has once again mystified Penn & Teller with his magic. Beckman, who lives in New Westminster, recently appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us. The show puts up-and-coming magicians and illusionists on stage with their goal to pull off a trick so impressive that Penn & Teller are unable to duplicate. “This is so complicated and so original, we don’t have any experience with it,” said Penn, speaking to Beckman after his performance. “They watch you like a hawk,” Beckman told CTV News.

Craig Zurbas says his home in Port Coquitlam, B.C., is under constant threat from nearby trees that pose a serious risk of falling onto his home. Hyde Creek runs through Zurbas’ backyard. Zurbas says his property line ends midway through the creek, and on the other side of that line is School District 43 property. On Tuesday, a tree smashed into his gutter. Back in June, a large tree caused more than $60,000 worth of damage.

One hundred years ago, Japanese officials gifted Vancouver 500 cherry blossom trees to honour Japanese-Canadian veterans of the First World War. Today, tens of thousands of the beloved trees can be found throughout the city. “There’s over 40,000,” said Andrea Arnot, executive director of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival.

The ad, which was displayed at the busy Vancouver City Centre Canada Line Station, said Herbaland Proudly Made in (the 51st state) Canada. The line referencing ‘the 51st state’ was crossed out by a while line.
