SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - One person is dead following a crash in Sumter County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP). The crash happened Sunday night at around 8:10 p.m. on Queen Chapel Road near Westbury Mill Road, which is about four miles south of Sumter. Troopers said a 2011 Hyundai sedan traveling east on Queen Chapel Road drove off the roadway, overturned several times and then crashed into a house. SCHP said the Hyundai’s driver died from their injuries.

SANTEE, S.C. (WIS) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said they are searching for a man from Clarendon County who has been reported missing for several days. Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said 25-year-old Tyrese Lawson, from Summerton, was reported missing on Thursday, April 10 after last being seen in Santee. Lawson is described as 6′3″ and around 235 pounds.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - An early morning crash on Interstate 77 has left several northbound lanes closed, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). The crash happened on I-77 North at Exit 5, which is the exit for Bluff Road/SC-48. As of around 5:30 a.m., two left lanes are closed, according to SCDOT. It is unknown how the crash happened or what conditions any people involved might be in. Drivers in the area should expect delays.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Multiple westbound lanes on Interstate 20 have closed down Thursday morning following a crash. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said two right lanes on the interstate have been closed near mile marker 67, which is between Monticello Road and the Broad River. An image captured from SCDOT cameras shows a tow truck removing a car with damage to its front from the middle of the roadway.

CAYCE, S.C. (WIS) - Traffic slowed on I-26 East Wednesday morning due to a vehicle on fire. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said the vehicle caught fire on I-26 East near mile marker 114, which is near Old Dunbar Road. The right lane of the interstate was closed as crews respond to the scene, and morning traffic was delayed, according to cameras with SCDOT. No information on how the vehicle caught fire or the conditions of any people involved has been released at this time.
