A Warren County man has been charged with possessing child pornography again after software installed on his cellphone due to a prior conviction detected the material, federal authorities allege. Marc Panchenko, 53, of Washington Township is charged with one count of possessing child pornography and a federal judge in Trenton ordered him detained pending trial during his first court appearance, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey announced Thursday.

A Dominican man serving a 10-year term for drug smuggling died early Wednesday at Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix after staffers found him unresponsive, the prison said in a statement. This is the second inmate to die at the prison in as many months under similar circumstances. A prison official identified the inmate as Macos Sanchez-Santana, 34. Records show he was tried in federal court in Puerto Rico under the name Marcos Sanchez-Santana.

A 34-year-old Mexican man serving a four-year prison term for drug distribution died Tuesday morning at Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix after being found unresponsive, the prison said in a statement. Prison staffers and an EMS crew performed life-saving procedures on Javier Francisco Villalba-Reyes following the 6 a.m. incident. The prison informed the FBI after he was pronounced dead, the statement said.
