    An out-of-state motorist was killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash in Cape May County on Sunday, according to police. Two cars collided on Route 47 in Middle Township around 9 a.m., killing Robert Burch, of Baltimore, Maryland, township police said Monday. Burch was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. A passenger, a 70-year-old woman, was taken to the same hospital after being removed from the Burch’s Hyundai sedan by rescuers, police said.

    A historic church in Atlantic City will soon be demolished and replaced by a marijuana dispensary, but its rare sandstone bricks will help preserve the famous Smithsonian Castle in Washington, D.C.The former Victory First Presbyterian Deliverance Church was built using the same style of bricks used in the construction of the Smithsonian Castle, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The church’s sandstone bricks will be used as part of a restoration project of the castle’s exterior.

All this while another coworker scans for any security threats. Tasks often performed by humans are now being done by a set of autonomous vehicles that are part of a $2.24 million federally-funded pilot project.

    New Jersey officials will implement “targeted enforcement” on illegal swimming after a man drowned at an unguarded lake inside a state-managed forest, according to officials. The 27-year-old swimmer died on Thursday at Penbryn Lake in Winslow Township’s Tansboro section, a rural area in South Jersey about 24 miles east of Philadelphia. Winslow Township police on Monday declined to identify the man, adding that authorities did not investigate the death as a crime.

    New Jersey’s top four electric companies will shave $60 from customers’ bills during summer’s hottest months and at a time when power is in high demand, state officials said Wednesday. Atlantic City Electric, PSE&G, Jersey Central Power & Light and Rockland Energy agreed to a rate deferral that will help cut bill prices $30 for July and August, the New Jersey Board of Utilities announced. But the money will have to be paid back.
