For more than three decades, Judy Clark has brought the news to Western Wisconsin. “They are the trusted local voices, everything broadcasting should be,” Michelle Vetterkind, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association President and CEO, said. Judy started her career at WAXX Radio.

FALL CREEK, Wis. (WEAU) - The future of AmeriCorps may be looking up. At the end of April, the Trump Administration made major cuts to the group. Then just last week, a federal judge blocked those cuts. There’s still some uncertainty about the future but there’s also optimism. At Beaver Creek Reserve, learning opportunities are all over. “There’s like water and animals everywhere,” Archer Mose, an eight-year-old, said. Learning opportunities are one of the organization’s priorities.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - A motion hearing in the case surrounding the homicide of Lily Peters is being rescheduled in Chippewa County Court. A motion hearing was set for Monday, June 9th. The judge in the case is out sick so the hearing was rescheduled. The purpose of the hearing was to determine whether the teen accused of killing her, 17-year-old Carson Peters-Berger, would stand trial in Chippewa County or elsewhere.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - A motion hearing in the case surrounding the homicide of Lily Peters is being rescheduled in Chippewa County Court. A motion hearing was set for Monday, June 9th. The judge in the case is out sick so the hearing will be rescheduled. There is no word on when the hearing will be. The court ruled last week to seal or redact a court record on behalf of 17-year-old Carson Peters-Berger. Peters-Berger is charged in the homicide of 10-year-old Lily Peters.
