LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Boaters should expect big delays at Lake Mead this summer. Construction began Monday at the most popular boat launch. The water level is projected to continue to drop to an all-time low possibly by the end of the summer and the Park Service says it must prepare now. LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - More than 800 pounds of marijuana was seized by Metro from an illegal grow operation last night in a home near Alexander and Tenaya. Metro says the bust is part of an active investigation and could not reveal if arrests were made there. Black market marijuana is a big problem in Nevada despite legal cannabis being sold at dispensaries throughout the state. FOX5 is looking into the problem and the dangers of the unregulated drug and those who sell it.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Lake Mead hit its all-time low water level three years ago: 1040 feet. Right now, the lake is about 18 feet higher, but water levels are projected to drop throughout the summer, and the lake could reach that record low level once again according to the Bureau of Reclamation. Declining water levels due to climate change and 20 years of ongoing drought have reshaped the park’s shorelines.
