    National car retailer Arnold Clark has unveiled plans to knock down its huge former showroom and garage in Torry. The firm has submitted a demolition notice for the massive site on Menzies Road. Eight buildings and a parapet will all be demolished as part of the proposal. This includes multiple offices, car showrooms, a wash bay, bodyshop, storage spaces and vehicle spray booths. Planning documents reveal it will cost around £750,000 to reduce the site to rubble.

    Tillydrone residents are calling for Aberdeen City Council to carry out crucial repairs to their homes amid fears the suburb is “being ignored”. They believe that numerous gutters and fascias along tenement blocks in the area are rotten due to a “lack of maintenance” over the years. Some fascias have been fixed while others have been left to fall apart – and some are in such a bad way that pigeons have moved in.

    Aberdeen bar and club Cheerz has been told it cannot stay open for an extra hour after four big P&J Live concerts later this year. Bosses of the city centre venue applied to the council seeking extended hours to allow its after-parties to continue into the early hours. They did this so the bar and club could remain open until 4am after the Sean Paul gig on April 12, Olly Murs on May 4, and the Clubland show on May 10.
