CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Northwest High School head boys basketball coach Thomas Stanley is stepping down after three years in the position. Stanley told Clarksville Now he’s leaving to spend more time with his family and children. “My decision to leave the Northwest basketball program had nothing to do with being unhappy or the team at all,” Stanley said. “In fact, I’m incredibly thankful for my time there and for everything the program has done for me.

MURFREESBORO, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High Wildcats made it all the way to the TSSAA Class 4A state championship game against the Farragut Admirals on Saturday. The Wildcats got up early, but big scoring in late innings for the Admirals powered Farragut to their sixth straight state championship game with an 11-3 win, and earned Clarksville their first state runner-up title in in program history.

MURFREESBORO, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High Wildcats traveled to Murfreesboro for game three of their TSSAA Class 4A State Tournament run against the Oak Ridge Wildcats. Each team traded blows all game long in a rollercoaster of a contest which needed ten innings to decide, before Cade Abernathy walked it off in the bottom of the tenth inning, giving the Wildcats a 7-6 win, advancing them to the state title game for the first time in program history.

MURFREESBORO, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Academy Cougars traveled to Middle Tennessee State University for the TSAAA Division II-A State Championship game. The Cougars’ defense held the Bulldogs to only two runs but couldn’t get the bats going, as they fell 2-0, while being honored as the state runner-up for the first time in program history. Early on, the Cougars’ defense got themselves out of a few jams.
