It’s a chilly start to the day thanks to a cold front that passed yesterday and less cloud cover overnight. Many across central Indiana woke up to temperatures in the 40s this morning. But even with the cool start, Tuesday is shaping up to be a beautiful spring day. With lighter winds and plenty of sunshine, temperatures will rebound nicely this afternoon. Looking ahead, we’re in for a pleasant midweek stretch.

We’re in for a windy and warm Friday! Southwest winds will be gusting between 30–40 mph this afternoon, helping to push our temperatures close to 80°. If we hit that mark, it’ll be the third time this year we’ve reached 80° in Indianapolis. Expect a dry day with a mix of sun and clouds. Today will be a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy some early spring warmth and dry time while it lasts. Changes arrive tonight, though.

We won’t see as much sunshine today, but overall, it’s still shaping up to be a fairly pleasant day. There’s a slight chance for a few rain showers this afternoon, but we’ll also squeeze in plenty of dry hours. Clouds will gradually increase as a warm front moves across the state later. As it does, winds will pick up. Expect breezy conditions with gusts up to 25 mph. Light, scattered showers will develop, but they’ll be hit or miss.
