AUSTIN (KXAN) - Temperatures will be hot across Central Texas today with afternoon highs in the low to mid-90s. The silver lining? HOUSTON (KIAH) – Our repeat pattern of minimal rain chances and hot temperatures continues into the upcoming weekend. Once beyond the weekend, things look a bit more interesting. This heat dome, typically responsible for the relentless hot and dry weather we see during Texas summers, won’t stay overhead for long.

HOUSTON (KIAH) – We’ll need to keep an eye to the sky for a few pop up showers and storms today, but in general, Juneteenth celebrations should not be washed out. Spotty showers developing offshore will make a run at the coastline this morning. Isolated to scattered storms and showers are likely to develop again mid- to late afternoon. Today’s rain chance sits around 30%, enough to make note of but no need to rearrange plans. Afternoon highs will climb into the low to mid-90s for most areas.
