NEW KENT IS ONE OF 12 BRANCH CAMPUSES TARGETED FOR POSSIBLE CLOSURE BECAUSE OF DECLINING ENROLLMENT AND FINANCES. A DECISION ON WHICH CAMPUSES WILL CLOSE IS EXPECTED IN JUST A FEW WEEKS. IT JUST CAN’T BE OVERSTATED HOW IMPORTANT THE BRANCH CAMPUSES ARE.     Camp Rise Up, a day camp held on Saturday, April 26, at Raccoon Creek State Park, aims to support people ages 11 to 18 who have lost a loved one to suicide. "When I first lost my mother to suicide in 2018 and, you know, that was obviously very hard for me to deal with," said Sarah Waddell, co-founder of Camp Rise Up. "One of my biggest rocks during that time was my older brother. Unfortunately, then in 2020, I lost him to suicide as well.
