    PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has accepted the courtesy resignation of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Prospero de Vera III, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin announced on Thursday. De Vera first rose to the top of the agency as officer in charge in January 2018 before being officially appointed as chairman by then-president Rodrigo Duterte nine months later. He was reappointed by Marcos in 2022.

In a motion, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino bet Rep. Rodante Marcoleta called on the Comelec to proclaim the top six candidates as 97.23 percent of the election returns has been transmitted since the evening of May 12.
