This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Nicole Wen, 25, who works at AT&T. It has been edited for length and clarity. My dad got a job at AT&T more than 26 years ago. After college, he told me about the company's amazing internship programs. I ended up doing three summer internships there throughout college, so that's how I got my foot in the door with the company. Today, we're both at AT&T. He is in a leadership position within sales, and I am a principal project program manager.
