An undercover probe led to the seizure of over 6,000 packages of vapes and edibles from four convenience stores in Northampton County, plus more than $375,000 in cash, District Attorney Stephen Baratta said Friday. All of the items are classified as marijuana, Baratta said in a news release, after Pennsylvania State Police Laboratory testing returned positive results for the federally listed illegal drug.

Improperly discarded smoking materials sparked the Friday, May 2 fire that displaced 135 tenants at the Five 10 Flats apartment building on Southside Bethlehem, city officials said. Bethlehem Fire Marshal/Deputy Fire Chief Craig Baer announced the cause Thursday. “We have determined that the fire originated on an outdoor patio/deck on the roof of the building,” he said in a news release.

Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan on Thursday announced the prison sentence handed down for Elijah Patterson, of Allentown, in the 2022 shooting death of Treshawn Tracy. A jury in March convicted Patterson of first-degree murder and additional counts for killing Tracy, who was also from Allentown.
