Genoa, Nev. — A lunchtime Easter collision at Muller Lane and Highway 395 snarled traffic and resulted in a transport for treatment. It was the second collision in around an hour after another around 11 a.m. Sunday at Stephanie and Highway 395. A third collision occurred at Johnson and Vicky lanes around 3:20 p.m.It's spring break in Douglas County, so the schools are out this week.

Two 13-year-olds girls who were groped while working at a haunted house wrote that they had nightmares and depression as a result of the Oct. 16, 2023, crime. Jason Michael Breidenbach, 47, who said he was intoxicated at the time, was sentenced to up to six years in prison on Tuesday. District Judge Todd Young said the girls were in no way responsible for Breidenbach’s actions. “They need to hear that they are not at fault,” Young said.

Work is underway on Muller Lane Parkway even as county commissioners debated how to best proceed on Thursday. Both Commissioners Wes Rice and Danny Tarkanian asked Park Ranch Holdings owner David Park straight out what it would take to move the issue forward. “What will it take to get you and the county on the same page,” Rice asked “I hate the thought of eminent domain, and this has gone on and on and on.
