Earlier this morning, Secretary of State Hilary Benn questioned the “fuss” over Irish language signs at Grand Central Station in Belfast. He said there are “so many more important things” than arguing on the matter. The signs have been the source of a fresh row between the DUP and Sinn Fein at Stormont.

George Brennan, who 38 years old is from Co Mayo. According to his family and friends, he was last seen on Wednesday 2nd April 2025 in Ballycastle, Co. Antrim. The sighting was via CCTV in the Spar shop on Moyle Road in the area, with Mr Brennan wearing a black zip up top, dark jeans, runners and was carrying a blue hiking backpack. He is described is 6’2, 100kg, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The transport company also confirmed the line between Antrim and Coleraine will be closed on Good Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19. A further line closure between Lisburn and Portadown will be in place on Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Also on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Cross Border Enterprise Services will be operated by rail replacement bus services between Belfast Grand Central Station and Dublin Connolly.

Despite Northern Ireland enjoying spells of sunshine and warmer temperatures across the past few weeks, the weather group has warned the sunshine will not return this weekend and into early next week. Last week, the region saw unseasonably high temperatures, as temperatures hitting the 20C mark across all six counties on Thursday. Friday also broke the record for Northern Ireland’s hottest day of the year so far, with Castlederg in Co Tyrone reaching up to 22C.
