Eamon, who was in his 80s, died in Beaumont Hospital earlier today surrounded by his family. His death notice reads that he “passed peacefully, after a long illness bravely borne, in the loving care of his family and the excellent staff of the Whitworth Ward”. The former Shamrock Rovers footballer is survived by his wife Eileen, who he married in 2016, and his children Eamon, Catherine, Claudine and Colin. The death notice also describes him as “beloved brother of the late Tommy, Maureen and Sean.

The picture is similar for lager, with pubs in Dublin city, Co Wicklow and Galway city charging the most, while publicans in Roscommon, Donegal and Mayo asking the least.
