LOUTH Louth County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team met again this morning to plan for the arrival of Storm Éowyn, which will bring gale-force winds with severe, damaging and destructive gusts of up to 130km per hour across the country. A Status Red wind warning for Louth is in place from 6am until 11am on Friday. A Status Orange wind warning is also in place from midnight until 4pm on Friday, January 24.

Ryanair intends to 'operate as normal a schedule as possible'Ryanair has urged flyers to check its website and their emails for possible cancellations ahead of Storm Éowyn. But while acknowledging that there will be some cancellations, Ryanair chief executive Eddie Wilson said that the airline currently intends to be operating as normal a schedule as possible between Thursday and Friday as Storm Éowyn pummels Ireland. Storm Éowyn is forecast to be one of the worst storms ever to hit Ireland.
