UNLV Officer in Charge Chris Heavey first reported in a campuswide email earlier this month that immigration officials had revoked visas of four students. The coalition, which includes organizations such as the Culinary Union, Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada and Make the Road Nevada, said officers have been in plainclothes and are not always with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Immigrant advocates are warning Las Vegas-area residents of increased immigration enforcement activity this week after receiving reports from different attorneys. Laura Martin, executive director of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, said at a Monday news conference that federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents targeted a business earlier Monday morning and that plainclothes officers arrested eight immigrants at a Las Vegas worksite last week.
