Indigenous Peoples around the world are taking control of their data, a movement whose leaders include a Washington State University faculty member. We’re all more aware of the amount of data collected about us, but Indigenous Data Sovereignty means more than that, said Cheryl Ellenwood, an assistant professor in WSU’s School of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs, and a member of the Nimíipuu (Nez Perce) nation and Diné (Navajo).

The Health Education Program on the Washington State University Pullman campus is adding individualized training to its repertoire and strengthening support for student staff as the demand for its services continues to grow. The Health Education Program features 20 student peer health educators (PHEs) who provide training and facilitate dialogue on health topics often deemed stigmatized but relevant to student lives — interpersonal violence, substance use, and mental health.

CDHPs have lower monthly premiums, offset by a higher deductible and out-of-pocket max. These plans are paired with a HSA, which WSU contributes $58.34/for EE only or $116.67/family monthly. You may make additional HSA contributions pre-tax through payroll deduction. The HSA max contribution limit for 2025 is $4,300/EE only or $8,550/families. This includes both ER and EE contributions, as well as the $125 SmartHealth Incentive if earned. EEs ages 55 or older may contribute an additional $1000/year.

On Nov. 3- 8, the WSU College of Education’s sport management program is hosting Jørgen Kjær, a Danish senior professor in the sports science department at Linnaeus University in Sweden. Kjær is a practitioner and scholar in coaching education and will share his experience and work, providing sport management students and faculty an international perspective in the development of effective sport coaches.
