Two adults and their children were confronted by an armed, masked man who entered through their garage and tried to rob them in the middle of the day in Norwood, according to Bergen County prosecutors. On Saturday at 12:20 p.m., authorities say 40-year-old Jisun Park, of Carrollton, Texas, pointed a handgun at the family inside their house on Impatiens Way, announced a robbery and threatened them.

Bergen County prosecutors say a woman fought off a sexual predator Thursday in the bathroom of a mall in Hackensack. Authorities say 30-year-old Craig Herbert, of New Milford, followed a woman into the bathroom at Riverside Square Mall. They say Herbert shoved the victim to the floor and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fight off her attacker before calling 911. Herbert fled the scene but was arrested hours later in Paramus.

Authorities searching for sexual assault suspect in West New York•Jul 29, 2024, 9:28 AM•Updated 7 min agoPolice and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit say they are investigating a sexual assault that happened over the weekend in West New York. Authorities say the victim, a 40-year-old woman, was grabbed by the hair and sexually assaulted by a man Saturday around 1:30 a.m. near Hudson Avenue and 51st Street. No arrests have been made.
East Brunswick police: Bicyclist killed in Route 18 crash

A 25-year-old man died Thursday in a fatal crash involving a motor vehicle in East Brunswick, police say. The crash happened at the intersection of Route 18 and South Woodland Avenue. According to police, Rohit Sharma was on an electric bicycle when he was critically injured and pronounced dead. Authorities say the driver of the car was not injured and stayed at the scene of the crash. The East Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Section is conducting a crash investigation.

Two people died after a plane that took off from Morris County crashed in Maine Thursday. The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane took off earlier in the day from Morristown Municipal Airport. The plane crashed on approach to Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport around12:25 p.m. at the end of the runway in Bar Harbor and resulted in a fire, authorities said. It's unclear if the victims were from New Jersey. Authorities did not immediately identify the two people who died in the crash.

A fake doctor and his wife were sentenced for sexually assaulting women out of their home in Old Bridge, Middlesex County announced on Tuesday. Authorities say two women came forward saying they were assaulted by 67-year-old Orger Sibaja-Bolanos during appointments in 2022. Prosecutors say Sibaja-Bolanos posed as a doctor, sexually assaulted both women on separate occasions and gave them both injections.

A man from Mount Laurel admitted to having pipe bombs in his car during a traffic stop in Hamilton Township back in 2023, according to U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger. Jeremy Giliberti, 52, was arrested after being pulled over in July 2023 . Police said they found four pipe bombs in a duffle bag inside his car. Authorities searched Giliberti's house and say they found a fifth bomb.
