    Bergen County prosecutors say a woman fought off a sexual predator Thursday in the bathroom of a mall in Hackensack. Authorities say 30-year-old Craig Herbert, of New Milford, followed a woman into the bathroom at Riverside Square Mall. They say Herbert shoved the victim to the floor and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fight off her attacker before calling 911. Herbert fled the scene but was arrested hours later in Paramus.

    Authorities searching for sexual assault suspect in West New York•Jul 29, 2024, 9:28 AM•Updated 7 min agoPolice and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit say they are investigating a sexual assault that happened over the weekend in West New York. Authorities say the victim, a 40-year-old woman, was grabbed by the hair and sexually assaulted by a man Saturday around 1:30 a.m. near Hudson Avenue and 51st Street. No arrests have been made.

    A 25-year-old man died Thursday in a fatal crash involving a motor vehicle in East Brunswick, police say. The crash happened at the intersection of Route 18 and South Woodland Avenue. According to police, Rohit Sharma was on an electric bicycle when he was critically injured and pronounced dead. Authorities say the driver of the car was not injured and stayed at the scene of the crash. The East Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Section is conducting a crash investigation.
