CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Orange Grove Bulldogs and Veterans Memorial Eagles are just a few of the many Coastal Bend baseball teams advancing to the UIL third round of playoffs. Orange Grove swept Lyford in UIL 3A-DII winning 12-0 on Thursday and 11-1 on Friday. Zach Wright started on the bump for game two. He struck out 8 batters, only allowing 4 hits and 1 run over 6 innings. The Bulldogs amassed 10 hits in that game. Zach Starns and Hughes Klatt each collected 2 hits.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The UIL 4A-DII Regional Semifinals came down to the game 3 rubber match, and the Ingleside Mustangs stomped the Devine Arabians 9-0 on Friday. Mustangs pitcher Kylee Ward pitched a complete game. She struck out 8 batters, while only allowing 5 hits and walking 1. Ingleside's biggest offensive attack was in the top of the fourth. They scored 5 runs on 4 hits. Ward went 2-for-4 at the plate, adding some pop in the middle of the lineup.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend started the 2025 UIL high school baseball playoffs with 29 teams, and 15 advanced to the Area second round. The Veterans Memorial Eagles held off PSJA North in game 1 of the UIL 5A-DI second round playoffs 2-0 on Thursday. Zach Hampton struck out 12 batters, while only allowing 5 hits and walking 2 over 6.2 innings. Eagles' got on the board in the third inning when Trae Hernandez hit a solo home run to left field. Jr Gonzalez added an RBI in the fourth frame.

Coach Dodge opens his 34th year of coaching mini camps and summer camps in 2025 with an eye to developing the next generation of championship level quarterbacks and skill position athletes.
