Chase Lynch drove in 5 runs on 3 hits, including an inside the park home run in the third inning. Calallen starting pitcher Collier Carroll earned the win for Calallen. The starter pitched a complete game, only surrendering 3 hits and 1 run over 5 innings while striking out 3 and walking 2.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Calallen Lady Cats stay undefeated in UIL 4A District 31 after outscoring Tuloso-Midway 15-4 on Tuesday. That win secured the district championship. Calallen senior and UTSA signee Brookelynn Meador wnt 5-for-3 at the plate, hitting a 3-run homer to center field in the fifth innings and a 2 RBI double in the second inning. Kris Leal went 4-for-4 at the plate as the nine-hole batter for 3 runs and 3 RBI. The Lady Cats piled up 16 hits in the game.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas A&M-Corpus Christi had some big shoes to fill when Royce Chadwick retired as the women's basketball head coach after 13 years. The university found their answer in Toyelle Wilson, who brings an impressive resume to Corpus Christi. Wilson has accumulated 110 career wins and five postseason appearances throughout her seven seasons as a head coach. She most recently led SMU for four years.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Ray Texans are closing the gap for second place in UIL 5A District 29 baseball after overpowering Gregory-Portland 9-3 and getting revenge. G-P won the first meeting 7-1 a month ago. Ray amassed 12 hits in the game. Aidan Ortiz led the Texans with 4 RBI. He went 2-for-3 at the plate. Lucas Tinajero, Raul Trevino, Jarron Sandoval and Ortiz each collected 2 hits. OJ Ruiz earned the win on the mound for Ray.

The Lady Pirates took a moment before the game to honor 7-year-old Karter Jones, who is officially in remission after battling brain cancer. Hooks lose extra inning battle to Missions 4-3

The Hooks fell short to the Missions 4-3 in the tenth inning on Thursday at Whataburger Field for Bark in the Park night. Pascanel Ferreras hit the game-tying solo homerun in the third inning to make it 3-3. Then the defenses stepped up for six straight scoreless innings. The Missions pushed across the automatic runner in extras before 3,249 fans. Game 4 is set for Friday at 7:05 p.m. The first 3,000 fans get a Hooks 20th Anniversary Fan Ring.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Several Coastal Bend high school track and field athletes delivered standout performances at this week's UIL 5A Area Meet, where the top four finishers in each event advanced to the Regional meet. Veterans Memorial senior Temoc Zamora dominated the 5A boys 110 meter hurdles, winning by nearly a full second with a time of 14.62 seconds. His teammate Andrew Brown secured second place, while Gregory-Portland's Ryder Harrison took third.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — New day, same story between the Corpus Christi Hooks and San Antonio Missions in their game two duel on Wednesday. San Antonio won 8-4, but the Hooks got out to a strong first inning start. The Hooks changed their name to the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits for Wednesday games. For the second straight night, Luis Castro led off the game for Corpus Christi with a home run to left field on the first pitch.

THREE RIVERS, Texas — The Three Rivers School Board voted and approved Jesse Garcia to be named the new Athletic Director and Football Head Coach on Wednesday. "My family and I are very thankful and blessed for this opportunity," Garcia said. "We are excited to be a part of this great community and serve the student athletes of Bulldog Nation! Time to continue to work and keep setting the bar high."Garcia takes over for Brent Kornegay who left the district for Johnson City to be closer to family.
