The state medical examiner has not changed the death certificate even after meeting with the FBI’s expert and federal prosecutors about the case a little more than one week before Farwell was arrested, according to visitor logs from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Farwell has pleaded not guilty to the charge of killing a witness.

Generations stood between them, but they shared the bonds of military service. Amid weekend celebrations marking St. Patrick’s Day and the evacuation of British soldiers from the city during the Revolutionary War, several sailors on Saturday toured South Boston to meet local veterans and thank them for their service. The sailors are stationed aboard the USS Thomas Hudner, a destroyer that was commissioned in Boston in 2018 and docked in the city for a port visit.

Thousands of demonstrators marched Saturday from the State House to Commonwealth Avenue to mark International Women’s Day, lending their voices to a global movement that local organizers say is more urgent than ever because of Donald J. Trump’s return to the White House in January. At about 1:10 p.m., the rally attendees traversed Berkeley Street on their march along Commonwealth Avenue. Several streets in the Back Bay were closed to vehicle traffic as the protesters headed down the road.
