Children are waiting years for an autism and/or ADHD diagnosis in Burnley and Clitheroe. Several parents have described the "difficult process" of seeking an assessment for their child. Burnley mum-of-two Lauren Jane Hutchinson says she first noticed signs of her son’s neurodivergence when he was one but felt her health visitor didn't take her seriously. Lauren highlighted it to his teachers when he started Reception class in primary school and a referral was made in Year 1.

A new cafe is set to open in Memorial Park in Padiham this weekend. Oliver’s, owned by Martin Smith and Anthony Benson, will host an open day on Saturday between 10am to 2pm. The team will offer free hot and cold drinks alongside nibbles and samples of its menu. This dog-friendly venue will also offer complimentary treats for all fur babies.

An Uber driver has shared footage of a child throwing a stone at his car from a bridge in Padiham, causing damage. The incident happened last Thursday at 4:41pm in Station Road, with the stone striking his windscreen and causing it to crack. Abdul Rahim shared the video to warn other drivers and highlight the dangers of the behaviour. He said: “Fortunately, no one was injured, but this could have easily resulted in a serious accident.

For the first time in 50 years, St Leonard's Langho is diverging from its Rose Queen tradition by selecting a boy to be the Young People’s Ambassador. The congregation, which currently does not have a vicar in place to lead them, decided to come together and try a “forward-thinking” move by naming George Jackson as its latest ambassador.
