Police scanner chatter in the city of Minneapolis is no longer available to the public. The city is the largest in the state to now encrypt it's police scanners. Minneapolis 911 Director Joni Hodne says the move is necessary to protect sensitive data and personal privacy, but she says all 911 incident information will still be available on a new online dashboard.

A big "don't" is throwing electronic waste into your regular garbage can. A suspect is in custody following an incident at UnitedHealthcare in Minnetonka. Early reports suggest the person arrested was an "intruder."Police, SWAT Teams and the FBI converged on the campus late Monday morning, and Minnetonka police report there is no threat to the public, and they are clearing the scene. The Minnetonka police department posted on X after 11:00 a.m. Monday saying, "there is currently a large police presence at the United Healthcare campus.

A federal judge could decide as early as Friday whether a University of Minnesota international student detained by ICE more than two weeks ago will be released from custody. Prosecutors asked the judge to keep Dogukan Gunaydin in jail until his court case is complete, saying he's a danger to public safety due to a 2023 drunk driving conviction. Gunaydin pleaded guilty in the case and acknowledged he could be deported because of it.
