We performed a targeted nanopore sequencing proof-of-principle study in a small cohort of AN cases (n = 10) and successfully characterised the regions surrounding the eight AN risk loci, at nucleotide resolution. Target regions were clearly enriched in the sequence data obtained, relative to off-target regions, showing higher average read lengths and coverages (Table 2; Supplementary Fig. 1).
