Emails sent to about half a dozen local housing nonprofits on Monday informed them that the decades-old Code Enforcement Outreach Program, or CEOP, is facing complete erasure due to the city’s budget woes.

A sinkhole forced southbound traffic on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz County to be reduced to one lane about a half-mile north of Watsonville on Sunday. California Highway PatrolA sinkhole on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz County was expected to slow traffic through Sunday evening, the California Highway Patrol said in a social media post. Southbound traffic was reduced to one lane about a half-mile north of Watsonville at Buena Vista Drive. The CHP advised drivers to expect delays.
