DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL has published a plan to develop a new town in north Dublin between Glasnevin, Cabra and Finglas. The town of Báile Bogáin (Ballyboggan) would be located along the Royal Canal west of Glasnevin Cemetery and east of Ratoath Road. The area, which is served by rail and Luas at Broombridge, is currently occupied by the Dublin Industrial Estate. Around 75% of the land would be zoned for residential use and 25% for enterprise and community uses.

BRITISH ACTRESS AIMEE Lou Wood has criticised comedy show Saturday Night Live for a sketch mocking her teeth, calling it “mean” and “unfunny”. Wood, known for her roles in television series like White Lotus and Sex Education, was among public figures parodied in the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, a New-York based sketch comedy show.

A MAN HAS been arrested in Northern Ireland after a stabbing yesterday evening. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have arrested a 47-year-old man in Newry on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. Around 8.40pm yesterday evening, PSNI received a report that a man in his 20s had been stabbed following an altercation outside a property in the Sugar Island area of Newry.
