JOPLIN, Mo. – Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's cross country competed in the NCAA Division II National Championship races at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri, on Saturday. The women placed 22nd as a team with a final score of 543. The men placed 26th in the 10K race with a team score of 605. With their 22nd-place result, the women celebrated the fourth-consecutive top-25 finish for the team.

PUEBLO, Co. – The Saginaw Valley State University Track and Field team kicked off the first day of competition at the NCAA Division II National Championships on May 25. The first day consisted of one athlete from the men's team and three athletes from the women's team competing in the championships. Men's TeamRyan Brenner – DecathlonBrenner is 1 of 15 athletes in the event throughout the next two days. He currently sits in sixth place overall for the Cardinals with 3801 total points.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University Track and Field team will send six athletes to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colorado. Colorado State University will serve as the host for the championships. The championships will take place from May 25-27. Three Saginaw Valley State University athletes traveled to Grand Valley State University to compete in the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet. Lauren Buckner, Alexa Kieser, and Kailiee Sandoval all made the trip. All three athletes set new personal records at their final meet before the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships next week in Allendale. Buckner and Keiser both hit NCAA Division II provisional marks in the 1500m run and the 3000m steeplechase respectivley.

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team traveled to Oakland University on Friday to compete in the Elaine Leigh Invitational. In addition, Lauren Buckner traveled to Eastern Kentucky University to compete in the 1500m run. On the women's side of the meet the Cardinals got things started with a seventh-place finish from Sophia Thelen in the 100m dash clocking 12.76 seconds in the short sprint.
