ST. LOUIS – Eight members of the Saginaw Valley State University track and field team competed at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis on Friday night. Three members of the women's team and five Cardinal men's runners competed in the 5K at the meet. Maddie Isola was the top finisher on the women's side as she finished the 5K in 38th after recording a time of 17 minutes and 36.38 seconds. Lynsey Amthor followed in 42nd with her time of 17:43.09.

JOPLIN, Mo. – Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's cross country competed in the NCAA Division II National Championship races at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri, on Saturday. The women placed 22nd as a team with a final score of 543. The men placed 26th in the 10K race with a team score of 605. With their 22nd-place result, the women celebrated the fourth-consecutive top-25 finish for the team.
