A bright and beautiful Saturday was the perfect playground for this year’s Easter in the Park held at Charlie Daniels Park. An estimated 1,000 people attended the family-friendly, three-hour event. City officials said it was a record attendance. Hundreds of families took a photo with the Easter Bunny. There was no Easter egg hunt this year; rather 23 vendors handed out candy and gifts to kids. In past years some kids were delayed getting to the egg hunt area.

A legacy torch has passed in the Needham family for its longtime popular nursery in Mt. Juliet. Needham’s Nursery & Landscaping’s new owner is Jessica Needham Scales, who received ownership of the business from her parents, nursery founders (in November 1988) and owners Tom and Janet Needham. Jessica’s husband, Clay, will help her run the business located on Lebanon Road near Green Hill High School.
