A new Venezuelan-American restaurant with a bakery and cafe is opening within the next week in Fort Pierce. Aji Dulce Cafe Gourmet announced it will open a second location in Fort Pierce after opening the first location in Port St. Lucie on Feb. 12, 2024. The exact address is being kept a secret, but it's somewhere on U.S. 1, according to the owners. The restaurants are owned by husband-and-wife team Dave Shaw and Carolina Chopite, who are from Caracas, Venezuela.

The daughter of a longtime family pizza business in Vero Beach is branching out on her own. Nicole Capobianco-Carroll, 44, quietly opened Niki’s Pizza on April 10 on Old Dixie Highway, next to Dom’s Bar in the Vero Commerce Center plaza. “It’s been a dream of mine since I was seven,” Capobianco-Carroll told TCPalm. “It’s pretty crazy. It’s so emotional for me.”She was raised in the family pizza business. Her parents, John and Collete Capobianco, opened Cap’s Pizza in 1987.
