    CASSELBERRY, Fla. - U.S. Congressman Cory Mills spoke with News 6 on Tuesday regarding a number of issues the community is facing. Mills is an Army veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Iraq, but he has recently come under scrutiny in regard to an ongoing police investigation in Washington, D.C. It's related to an alleged assault, and this is the first time he has addressed the allegations with News 6.

    ST. CLOUD, Fla. - A bizarre balloon accident is being blamed for sparking a nearly 200-acre brush fire near a neighborhood in St. Cloud. Some of the residents contacted News 6, saying the smoke seemed unbearable. "So down here, there's a lot of smoke going on, a lot of fires," said Chris Kinngard, a resident who showed News 6 some leftover burning bushes near his home off Narcoosee Road. Subdivisions near Jones and Nova Roads were impacted.

    KISSIMMEE, Fla. - A Florida woman is in fear for her life after a 23-year-old man convicted of murder in the strangling of her 19-year-old daughter was mistakenly released from a Georgia prison, according to published reports. Christina Grayson, of Kissimmee, spoke to News 6 in 2022 (watch video above) after her daughter, Delila Grayson, was choked to death by Kathan Guzman, who was 20 at the time.

    ORLANDO, Fla. - The population of people in the Metro Orlando area living without a home held relatively steady in 2025, according to new data released Friday by the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida. However, seniors and children are still a large part of the homeless population. Perhaps the starkest number released: 24% of people struggling with homelessness are 55 and older. More than half are living outside.
