ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orange County sheriff's deputy, a defendant who was being transported to jail and another driver were injured early Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash, authorities said. The wreck happened around 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of John Young Parkway and State Road 408. All three crash victims were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez was suspended from office Thursday by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis amid a massive investigation in involving illegal gambling and public corruption, according to Florida officials. Lopez was arrested Thursday and faces one count of racketeering and one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering, both of which are first-degree felonies. He was taken to the Lake County Jail.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - After 17 minutes of deliberation, a jury on Wednesday found a man guilty of murder in the 2023 shooting death of his wife at their Daytona Beach home. Shantell Adkins was found guilty of first-degree murder (firearm) and two counts of aggravated assault. On October 19, 2023, Adkins was arguing with his wife, Shawntai Adkins, 34, at their Fulton Street home. When the argument intensified, Shawntai Adkins called her parents and asked them to come help de-escalate the situation.
