Nottingham Forest recently announced that Nuno Espirito Santo had signed a new contract with the club. The Forest head coach has been in place for 18 months after arriving at the City Ground in December 2023, shortly after Steve Cooper had been handed his papers. Espirito Santo has set about changing the culture at Forest, and after overseeing survival in 2023/24, he led Forest to a seventh-place finish last season and a place in the UEFA Conference League.

Nottingham Forest will be active in the transfer market this summer, but it won’t just be to complete incoming pieces of business. Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking for reinforcements for his squad, with Forest set to play in the UEFA Conference League next season. Igor Jesus has signed for Forest from Botafogo, and he will likely be joined by more players before the new campaign gets underway.

Nottingham Forest have never lacked ambition since returning to the Premier League in 2022. The Reds made some mistakes in the transfer window after promotion, but in the first season back, players like Jesse Lingard, Felipe and Serge Aurier all arrived with experience and as statements of intent. Lessons were learned the following summer when Callum Hudson-Odoi arrived at Forest in a cut-price deal, and players like Anthony Elanga and Ibrahim Sangare were added to the ranks.

Nottingham Forest will be going in search of a number of new players this summer, with European football on the horizon next season. Forest will discover their Europa League fate this week, with Crystal Palace guilty of breaching some multi-owner breaches that they’ve been asked to confirm. However, it looks like the UEFA Conference League for the Reds, and that will be absolutely fine for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Nottingham Forest will be playing in Europe for the first time in 30 years when the football season returns in August. The Reds face a two-legged play-off to make the group stages of the UEFA Conference League after finishing in seventh place in the Premier League last season. Over the past few weeks, however, Crystal Palace have been sweating on their place in the Europa League and that has had implications for Forest too.

🤦♂️ 😂

🚁 Helicopter left Newcastle Airport earlier tonight and look where it's just landed. 15 mins outside of Nottingham Forest's Training Ground. Has to be Elanga related, surely? Perhaps Forest reps or his reps up for talks in the Toon today? #NUFC https://t.co/1HjX4NaaKI

This Newcastle tax is a myth. The players listed are among the best, if not the best, at their respective clubs; that's why the prices are high, not because it's Newcastle or the Saudis...

I feel like Newcastle United need to be bringing options in from outside of the Premier League Our best signings have been all been abroad with this Newcastle tax and over inflation in Premier League club prices Mbeumo, Guehi, Elanga and Trafford all so expensive #NUFC

Forest technically had 'reps' watching Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon last night too...

Also a line in here that NUFC pursuit of Anthony Elanga is still alive. The club had reps in Nottingham this week.
