Questions were asked by politicians of all stripes when it was announced in March that Conservative councillor Louis Gardner had got the £70,000-a-year role. A spokesperson for the company told us: “We can confirm Louis Gardner is no longer employed in the position of head of future air and space.” They went on to clarify that he is no longer employed in any role by Corserv or Cornwall Airport Newquay, which oversees the Spaceport. We asked Corserv if Mr Gardner resigned or was sacked.

We are reporting the decision by the Diocese of Truro to bar Independent councillor Sam Rabey on the day the city council will elect the next mayor. A Diocese “safeguarding briefing” was shared among all cathedral staff and volunteers, which was leaked to the Local Democracy Reporting Service by a concerned member of the public.

The Tregothnan Estate has requested a planning performance agreement (PPA) for up to 200 properties on two neighbouring sites at Tolgarrick, Truro – between Highertown and the Newham Trail.
