Businessowners and locals say they hardly recognise Newquay in Cornwall, since a concerted effort to shed its 'wild west' reputation. The coastal spot had a long had a reputation for rowdiness - with stag dos, lads holidays and drunken teenage shindigs the norm. The council finally had enough and back in 2009 introduced a “mankini ban”.
