USF’s Feed-A-Bull food pantry receives no financial help from the university, even though increased housing and meal plan prices are part of the reason so many students have to rely on the program in the first place. The pantry is already nearing the number of visits they typically see after an entire school year. The program is struggling to keep up with the demand.

Seeing that first gray hair or wrinkle in the mirror should bring happiness instead of insecurity. Some men and women use preventative Botox as a method to stop the formation of wrinkles as they age. Students who use cosmetic treatments like this should stop supporting anti-aging industries and appreciate the beauty of aging instead, as this could improve their overall mental health. Gen Z uses more skin care products than any other generation.

A roaring stadium of rowdy fans, fascinating lectures packed to the brim with eager young minds and lively homecoming events: a picture of the campus experience many students look forward to coming into college. This does not paint a picture of USF. Its football game attendance is mediocre at best; ranked 71st in the FBS.

“Canceling” is a way to punish others for a disagreeable or offensive statement. After an individual has been deemed “canceled” by the court of public opinion, the next step is to outcast them through harassment, boycotts or sabotaging their career. Though common public perception of cancel culture is sometimes associated with celebrities, it has also been a popular trend in the academic community. A university is a place where diverse people come together to learn from one another.

The U.S. News and World Report named USF as one of the top 15 colleges that still require test scores for admission on Oct. 9. Many universities have adopted test-optional policies as of late. USF must retain its test-required policy and implement more demanding admissions standards, including increasing minimum accepted SAT scores from 1250 to 1350. This will result in higher university rankings and overall academic success. USF is on a mission toward excellence.
