This op-ed was written by former hunger striker Leyna Vu. She was one of 17 original hunger strikers who protested for USF’s divestment. Vu wrote this op-ed while the strike was still ongoing. It’s hard enough being a corporate-conforming girlie. Even though I plan on one day being a court reporter and it excites me, I don’t want my work life to define me. Yet, it’s hard when ‘grind culture’ is rampant on social media.
