    COSHOCTON − Ohio ranks second in the annual Horrible Hundred report from Humane World for Animals of breeders performing inappropriate procedures or not taking care of dogs and puppies properly. Ohio had 16 breeders on the list with Missouri on top with 26. Many of the Ohio perpetrators are in Coshocton, Holmes, Tuscarawas and Muskingum counties.

    Horizons of Coshocton has opened a new office at 603 Main St. It's larger with space for training and is in a more visible area than the previous location. Horizons provides a variety of services to those with developmental disabilities so they can live independently in homes. There are 12 clients and 45 staff members in Coshocton. COSHOCTON − Conner Moran first came to Horizons as a shy 13-year-old who needed around-the-clock care by two staff members.

    The Ohio House of Representatives on Wednesday will vote to eliminated the Public Library Fund and replace it with a line item in the general budget. When comparing fiscal year to fiscal year, this would be a loss of current funding and below what has been proposed by Gov. Mike DeWine. This could lead to cuts to programs and resources.

    COSHOCTON − Water has receded over most roads in Coshocton County from the recent torrential rains, however water does remain high in some typical areas. The National Water Prediction Service, had the Muskingum River at Coshocton at 15.8 feet Monday morning. It's predicted to crest at 16.2 feet on Tuesday morning. Minor flooding starts at 15 feet with moderate flooding at 18 feet. The service said at 15 feet, low areas are flooded and water may reach a few homes along Ohio 16 and County Road 1A.
