LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Daytime heating and moisture in the atmosphere could trigger another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms Thursday. The best chances will occur in the mountains but could slide into the valley through the afternoon. These storms, if they develop, could produce strong winds and isolated flash flooding. Our high is expected to be around 93 degrees, which is a few degrees below normal. Showers and thunderstorms could develop again Thursday night. The low will be around 73.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Still no sign of Mojave Max our Desert Tortoises and weather prognosticator like Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog everyone turns to in early February to see if we get an early spring. Mojave Max is still in Brumation (a reptiles hibernation) at the Springs Preserve. The last two years Max has come out of his burrow on just a day apart in April. The earliest day he ever surfaced is February 14th back in 2005.
